The internet has been buzzing lately about Sammy Sosa, former MLB All-Star with the Chicago Cubs. The former homerun slugger was seen at the Latin Grammy Awards 2009 with wife Sonia Sosa. A picture was snapped of the duo which revealed Sosa to be a lot lighter in complexion than he was before. Fans, bloggers and gossipers all began commenting on why the baseball star looked so different, naming everything from a hoax to a skin disease to a Michael Jackson style transformation. The Sammy Sosa before and after photos were published to numerous sites as they displayed Sosa's old and new looks. A former Cubs employee even reported that Sammy was undergoing a "rejuvenation process" for his skin.
In a recent interview with ESPN, the Sammy Sosa face change was explained by the man himself. Slammin' Sammy let the world know he wasn't suffering from some strange skin disease but instead had been using a special cream on his skin. Sosa said he purchased the mysterious cream over in Europe and may even have plans to sell it!
So rest assured, Sosa is not using illegal substances, just a skin cream to rejuvenate his look!
